We are seeking a Vice President of Business Development and Origination to drive our waste and energy
business growth for commercial and industrial scale plastic to fuel.

The ideal candidate should have a deep network of industry contacts in the petroleum, petrochemical and
waste industry, petroleum purchasing and/or sustainability functions of large commercial and industrial entities.

The candidate will also have experience with waste conversion projects and power project origination.
They will be responsible for implementing the development strategy by developing new and existing customers
relationships, proposing and structuring waste conversion projects and energy transactions, and will have a
deep knowledge of revenue offtake agreements.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the implementation of a national development platform for the plastic to fuel
    business

  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with executives, energy buyers, feedstock suppliers and
    other key personnel in targeted accounts in assigned geographic regions

  • Develop partner relationships with accounts to effectively manage the entire sales and purchase
    process including the contract negotiation, financing, project execution and operational phases

  • Collaborate with strategy and marketing groups to identify and develop new market opportunities and
    craft value propositions to serve target market

  • Develop tactical execution plans for project development and assigned regions

  • Manage a project team, including direct sales support team of Developers, Analysts and Program
    Managers in development of projects from inception until commercial operation

  • Lead the internal team through all aspects of a complex sales process to successful closing of deals
    and projects

  • Collaborate with colleague departments including Project Finance, Legal, Construction Services and
    O&M in support of sales process

  • Expand pipeline of sales opportunities by generating and qualifying high quality leads

  • Direct outside consultant activities retained in support of sales opportunities

  • Approximately 25-50% travel to customer locations for meetings/presentations


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree in engineering, economics or business
    15+ years experience in the power generation industry including, but not limited to, waste to energy,
    combined heat and power, biogas, renewables with an emphasis on project finance experience and/or
    infrastructure development in the power generation and /or fuel sector

  • 10+ years experience in complex selling: prospects comprise multiple “buyers” in different parts of an
    organization, selling a value-based proposal to large organizations in the power and energy sector at
    executive level

  • Selling $100M+ projects over extended sales cycles to first-time and repeat buyers for whom multiple
    stakeholders influence the buying decision

  • Experience introducing new product and service offerings, and developing corresponding value
    propositions

  • Strong leadership and strategic skills with an ability to balance and prioritize competing interests

  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business relationships quickly and to close business

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic entrepreneurial environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and interface effectively with cross-functional employee groups of all
    levels and competencies

  • A proven track record of developing successful biogas, combined heat and power, waste to energy
    and other clean energy projects
