JBS Food Canada (“JBS”), a leading processor of beef in Canada and one of the largest cattle feeders in the world with operations in the U.S, Canada and Australia.
The project is a 15 MW nominal CHP facility that will supply 9 MW of electricity and 60 kpph of steam to the JBS plant in Brooks Alberta, with additional potential to generate up to 160 kpph of steam with supplementary firing of the Heat Recovery Steam Generator. Any electricity generated in excess to the JBS plant requirements will be exported to the grid.
The Brooks CHP facility is in construction and will reach commercial operations in mid-2017. BME will perform the Operations and Maintenance for the plant to ensure stable operations.
